I'm probably gonna get some Alienware because they are the best gaming computers that money can buy. They also have the most respected name for gaming computers. They also look cool and light up. I just need some opinions about how I should customize my Alienware. I would also like to know how good that HP Firebird and the Alienware M17x is. I've read good reviews about the M17x but I haven't seen many reviews of the Firebird. Thanks for the help guys.

LOL NO!
The best ones money can buy are the ones you custom build yourself. At your house.

Why?

You make baby Jesus cry.
Alienware computers are hugely overpriced, if an Alienware was $3000, you could build the same for $1000.
Seriously, give a good reason why you won't build, I'm 14 and I managed to learn in 2 weeks.
Not trying to say "YOU MUST BUILD" but I think a reason is in order, you could save loads of money.
EDIT: Bad spelling? There isn't a single mistake there.

Like I said though. I have to buy a pre-built one. I'm really looking at the HP Firebird. It looks awesome, uses only a little power, is liquid cooled, silent, and from what I can tell, fast.

What about that M17x laptop? I've read that it is like $400 cheaper to buy it from Best Buy than Alienware. Is that a good deal?
[editline]10:37PM[/editline]
I can't build a computer because my parents do not trust me to do it right. So, I have to buy a pre-built one. *sigh*
Like I said though. I have to buy a pre-built one.
-snip-
You answered in an edit, never mind
EDIT: How old are you? Surely if you're old enough you can persuade your parents that you're responsible. If I could learn in 2 weeks at 13, surely you could pick it up in a few days. It's just expensive lego that only fits one way.

I said it was a grad present lol. High School if you must know.

So how good is the Firebird and the M17x?
Get someone else to build it for you, then tell your parents its a make?
Can't you ask a local shop to assemble the components you give them or something? Safe, and cheaper than buying Alienware.
I'll try that, but can I get an opinion on the Firebird?
Go to newegg.com.
It sells name brand stuff, but obviously that isn't what they meant by name brand (manufacturer of whole PCs). In this case just tell your parents to let you build it yourself, you are old enough to do it. It isn't hard either, everything is labeled, colored, or instructed in some manual. Besides what will they do if you don't buy the PC? Take away the money? Just ask them for the money instead so you can do what you want with it.
Also, the Firebird isn't really worth it. You can build a better rig for the same price. Although it isn't a bad rig either.

I like the fact that it is super efficient with space, energy, and is decently powerful, just how powerful I don't know though.
go to www.ncixus.com
then you can buy the thing that lets them build it for you

The Firebird is a really well designed gaming computer. If you're willing to fork out the cash then get it. The only draw back is you would probably want a better video card and from the looks of the case I have no idea how easy it is to install one. But it's a fine choice sir!
HP's suck ass. :bang:
just custombuild one at an internet store and let them build it
I'll try that, but can I get an opinion on the Firebird?
Get the firebird, You will love it. Its sleek and fast and is totally awesome
Or even, try going on one of the sites above that build a computer with the components you choose and choose the same parts as the ones in a firebird.
That way you should save a lot of money, enough to make it even better with what is saved.
Hmmm, that's wierd, the Firebird has 2 5400 RPM drives, yet claims to be a gaming PC.
Firebird is laptop guts.

Never mind this thread, OP got perma'd.

Actually, the best names in gaming computers are those such as Falcon Northwest and Digital Storm (there are a couple more whose names escape me).
Dell's XPS and/or Alienware, and HP's Voodoo PC's have generally good components but not the same build quality. They are no where close to being "the best gaming computers money can buy" or being "the most respected name". Even relatively basic PC services like IbuypowerPC and CyberpowerPC have slightly better value if you know what parts you want.
I really hope your parent's aren't dim enough to make the poor error of assuming that all the good brands can be found in a Best Buy or CompUSA. Online is a much better option.
Digital Storm?
Seriously?
Digital Storm?

Well I had to put something down for a second suggestion. I'd only go with Falcon NW if I was buying (not building) anyway. What would you suggest as a runner-up?
Falcon Northwest? wat
[editline]05:38PM[/editline]
the only prebuilt site that doesn't overprice by $2000 is ibuypower/cyberpowerpc.
get an alienware
DARKRIDE
I AM DISAPPOINT
At least I think you're darky.
Digital Storm. I came when i saw there liquid-cooled setups.

The way I see...if you are going to be a lazy fuck and pay out the ass for a prebuilt instead of building a PC...you may as well pay out the ass for a good one. Falcon NW's prices are high, but for valid reasons.
I could give a list of all the reasons but it would just be a repetition of what is on their website. Biggest amongst them being their warranty service, lifetime tech support based in the USA, and amazing build quality.
If you are thinking about an ibuypower of cyberpower PC you may as well build one since you need to be pretty familiar with what components you want before you buy.
The Gaming Dominator from Digital Storm actually looks like a good deal.
CPU: i7 950 overclocked to 3.8GHz

I don't know but that doesn't sound like a bad deal to me.

Also the Frag Master doesn't seem like a bad deal either
