So I've preordered the DOOM collectors edition and tbh its my first time ordering any collectors since I'm always buying the game on steam. But since this game will come with a CD, will I be able to somehow redeem it on steam so it registers if I've alreayd brought the game?
It's Steam-only so ye
In the game case you'll very should find a card with and activation code on it. Trying to install from disk will also prompt you to install steam if you haven't, and will prompt you for the activation code.

Kindah pointless so steam intergration is needed for pretty much all PC games
Last I checked, Bethesda has switched over to Steamworks since Fallout: New Vegas. Way i see it, bethesdanet will probably end up providing social features similarly to Saints Row's My Steelport.

EA -> Origin Ubisoft -> UPlay Everything Else -> Steam It's almost always an activation code in the case. If you buy digital copies online not from the publishers themselves, so like Amazon, GMG, G2A etc... they will tell you where they key gets registered (though the above rule applies anyway).
