Hello all, I'm here to take a poll (which I hope isn't violating the rules, if Fast Threads has any) I was just thinking about some of the movies these days, and wonder what you all think about movies presently, if you think their up to the quality of their predecessors, even more modern ones like those of the 80s. I am asking because I myself feel that the movies today are kind of falling behind in quality, or novelty at least. But please! Your thoughts.
Movies aren't falling behind, it's just that when you look back no one remembers the shit movies. In 30 years people when look back and see movies all the great movies from our era and not the shit ones
I think that anyone who thinks that new movies are worse than old movies are stuck with rose-colored classics. There were tons of terrible movies then, there are tons of terrible movies now.
stop watching bad movies then

That's kind of... well to me anyways.
Shit I voted no but meant Yes. Like has been said already, it's just that no one remembers bad movies. Unless they're super bad, like Troll 2, but then we've also got The Room so we're still pretty equal on that front as well.
I really asked thinking I had a good idea for a movie, but now I don't know.
Shitty movies have always been around, but I do think it's ridiculous how many new movies are adaptations or sequels. I'm disappointed that either nobody comes up with original stories anymore, or they do but rarely get approved.
There are still very good movies nowadays so yes im content with movies these days. Same for music and games (well, almost at least).
There's a cycle with movies I'm content with. For now. Firstly, I have a feeling that the way movies go today have more or less been like they are now, just a slightly different genre. I'll explain. I seem to see sequels, reboots and big budget movies that I couldn't care less about (See Transformers, directed by a guy that would clearly be directing pornography if he weren't making so much money in movies). then, every so often a film will come out that seems fresh or like an anti-cliamat film that goes against the tide at that moment, like The Artist. I really enjoyed it because it was a celebration of film, and because it wasn't behind a huge amount of PR and cast and crew interviews. Anything like that came after the film was released, made a lot of money and was critically acclaimed. Then, I go back to hating sequels, reboots...
