• Recommend me a good cooling pad!

Hey I just bought a laptop for about 1k for University. This laptop obviously can play video games and I've read reviews and it said that it gets pretty hot when it does even to the point of shutting down. Now I'm wondering what cooling pad I should buy in order to keep the temperature down. I've heard from many people that a good cooling pad will cost a lot and the cheaper ones wont cool much. So I'm looking for one that will cool the most and/or is cost efficient. Anyone got a recommendation for me?
Just go to your local electronics store and pick out whatever one you think is best. I wouldn't put a lot of money into it since they break pretty fast. Cooling pads don't really help that much anyway (if at all), and your best bet is to get a temperature monitoring program that can alert you if your CPU or whatever is getting too hot.
Just keep it off of surfaces like beds and keep it ventilated and it's not going to shut down or anything. Do that and what _Sniper_ said.
Overheating, especially in the summer, is almost unavoidable in some laptops. My laptop gets up to 98 degrees easily with hd youtube videos and then says fuck you and dies. :saddowns:

If it's for gaming, and you have money, get a Cryo NZXT.

I would say that you should at least invest in a quality aluminum one. I have a 15" aluminum Thermaltake cooling pad that's outlasted my friend's multiple plastic cooling pads.
Is alumnium the best material for a cooling pad? If so I'm about to go out and buy one from walmart right now.
I highly doubt Walmart would have one. Get one online at a better price.
Bumpish because I'm getting my laptop in the mail today
