This might be a stretch. But I need a laptop for school and work. I surf the web, play games(gmod, minecraft, portal), and do some web and software design.
Id like something powerful that I wont have to worry about too much and I dont want to spend hella money.
I like Lenovos and Samsungs laptops, I like the design. I think Id like to stay with an i5 processor and SSD is a bonus. Thinner the better
I found this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/LENOVO-IDEAPAD-V570-15-6-INTEL-CORE-i5-2450M-6GB-500GB-HDMI-WiDi-WiMAX-LAPTOP-/150926987162?pt=Laptops_Nov05&hash=item2323f30f9a Im not sure how good that is for the price as I haven't shopped for laptops in years and its kinda thick and no ssd.
Any suggestions?
Maybe try and find laptops with an ivy bridge processor? The intel HD 4000 is pretty good for some light gaming.
It won't be very good for gaming since there isn't a dedicated card on that laptop, but for school and work, yeah.

He/She is going to be playing Portal, GMOD and Minecraft (Source games and Minecraft) on it. It doesn't need a dedicated GPU, a powerful Intel HD 3000 or HD 4000 will do more than just fine. Minecraft isn't really taxing on the GPU, it just needs a fast processor, preferably multi-core (With optifine Ulta installed), and 2+ GB of RAM and you'll do fine.
Ive decided to liquidate several old laptops I dont need ( http://www.ebay.com/itm/150935613238?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 ) and get this... http://www.samsung.com/us/computer/laptops/NP535U3C-A01US
Opinions?
