• Images flashing vividly in my eyes?
    26 replies, posted
I keep having pictures and images flash in my eyes. For example; when I'm drawing something or looking at a gallery of art when I'm done, images of what I was looking at flash in my eyes for a split second and stay imprinted there for a little, then fade away. Especially when I close my eyes. It does it more visually and more intense than just thinking of an image, as if I'm actually seeing it infront of me. Does this happen to anyone else or am I going insane? Edit: Also, they're variations of the things I saw prior to the flashes. Images that I haven't seen before but of the same topic. E.g., abstract things. I'd see other abstract images I've never seen before but still abstract. Edit: I researched some symptoms of eye cancer, and cancer in general. I don't have any of them however.. Turns out other people are experiencing the same thing as me, and doesn't seem to lead to fatal effects. That's what I get for being so gullible towards you silly peoples. After reasearching I guess it just concludes to my over-active imagination. I will however see a doctor if this gets more serious and starts really effecting my vision. [sp]Unless I really am the chosen one[/sp]
You are the chosen one.
Looking at things for a long time can do this! [editline]28th March 2011[/editline] Blink at my dildos, bruv.
Happens to me too. Especially when I watched TV or out at night. Sometimes Ill see darker spots or sparks. Time to go to an eye doctor broski.

It's just like looking at a negative color photo then having it switch to a grey scale one and you see it in its natural colors.

You could have sensitive eyes, an astigmatism, detached retina, or any number of other eye issues. If you notice anything strange with your eyesight just get it checked. Thats one of your senses you dont want to risk losing.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Synesthesia ?
I know I have that, I've been associating and seeing colors and numbers together for years. Also entire words. Like this: Also - Blue. Entire - Green. Words - Brown.
What color is "Fuck"
What color is "Fuck"
Red and white
it's cancer
it's cancer
Cancer is infected(dead) cells in the eye or place of infection. It could be.
I have the same thing, not flasing. But if I look at an object for a long time and close my eyes, I can see the object, I also have sort of rope-ish transparent flying around sometimes. And the light thing, when your eye absorbs light and you go into the dark, then you could see light floating around.
USUALLY I would say that images persisting (especially after you close your eyes) is normal, as long as it doesn't interfere with your ability to see. Flashing in the eyes, on the other had, often happens due too much neural activity (aka "warming up" while playing FPS so that your reaction comes faster and you're a little hyperactive). The cure in that case would be to take it easier on games for the rest of the day, like watch a movie or browse forums or better yet get off your pc for an hour. Though I don't think it's the second, unless it's just flashes of brightness. More likely you are either overreacting over natural visual memory/persistance, OR your natural visual memory/persistance is overreacting over stuff you see, in which case you need to see a neurotherapist (not psychologist or an ordinary doctor). Note, Facepunch is not a certified neurotherapist (and neither am I)
See a doctor.
I used to work in a factory and my job included watching a conveyor belt for 7 hours straight. Imagine what took my sleep at night because it was imprinted in my eyeball? Its normal. And it can drive you mad if you understimulate your brain.
You are slowly dying. Edit: Your brain and heart functions are obviously slowing down making the information processed by your brain lag behind. Edit2: I am a doctor, I know this.

What do the numbers mean, Spherexd?! Seriously though: Go see a doctor.
OP's avatar represents what happens when he sees these images
You have super powers
You are the highlander. You also have cancer, you're going to die.

You're high. But in all seriousness, like everybody says: Go see a dokta.
