Had a debate with comrade. Does the inclusion of hamburger buns, automatically designate a food as a burger? I had a breaded piece of chicken in between two hamburger like buns, do I call this a chicken sandwich or a chicken burger? Surely it wouldn't be called a chicken sandwich, because that would imply that a piece of anything in between two hamburger like buns would be a "x burger".

Basically, is this a chicken burger, or a chicken sandwich?
I'd call that a chicken sandwich personally.
But that's just because...you know...
Chicken sandwich
No I don't know.
But that's what I'd call it.
If it's got bread surrounding it, it's a sandwich. I'm referring to normal loafs of bread. Buns, however, change the aforementioned sandwich into a burger as they are, "Hamburger Buns."
Hamburger is just the name for the ground beef steak from Hamburg, Germany. So unless it's one of those, it's not a burger to me.
Why argue about the food when you can just eat it?
I call that a chicken burger just because of the buns.
Now I'm hungry :smith:
I would say Chicken Burger.
This is a chicken sandwich
