I think people forget that it suited Dark Souls. The grim psychotic post-apocalyptic world was unforgiving and the game-play mirrored that. These guys have to do something unique, and not just pad everything out with difficult bosses. Also bamco, they publishing this or something?
The armors don't look very inspired tbh, 2 meter wide and 3 meter tall bearded men with huge shoulder pads fighting caveman demons with huge spiky shoulder pads
people don't know/forget that the main gimmick behind the souls series is that it's unforgiving moreso than difficult
don't get me wrong, the game isn't easy by any definition, but yeah
It feels off
like it's just trying to be hardcore and darksouls, but is just emulating the game
Ehh, I'm intrigued but the developer doesn't have the best history in the world. This is probably going to end up woefully mediocre at best.

Hate how everyone misinterprets Souls' design with difficulty, difficulty wasn't really the main focus of the games, it just went hand in hand with the theme of the games.

Not in Dark Souls II. The new directors totally misinterpreted their own game.
I'm getting more of a Infinity Blade vibe off this to be honest. In that game you always fought to the end and during your first playthroughs you couldn't defeat the final boss, which sent you back to the start, but kept your upgrades and shit for a better chance next time.
