My computer has been acting up all day. First, this morning the overheating alarm came on. I thought that was odd but I was idling in tf2. But after letting it cool down for a few hours, I turned it on only to have the overheating alarm come back on after about fifteen minutes. So then I let it cool down for about six hours, and in the meantime got the parts to put a new 140mm fan on it to increase cold air flow. Started it again and it took a bit longer to overheat but I also noticed Winamp wouldn't run unless I ran int NT compatibility mode. So now with the new fan installed, everything seems to be running fine, but now Winamp is still acting up and none my startup programs initialized. WTF is going on?
Virus scanned?
Have you cleaned your pc for dust?? Also Winamp seems to be very bloated lately, compared to what it was 3 years ago. (IMO of-course)
It'd be nice if you could give a little more info.
Overheating and Winamp are two totally different problems. What are your system specs (processor, heatsink, etc)? First thing you should try is a re-seat of your heatsink. And for the problem about Winamp, I have no idea it runs fine for me.
