Uh oh. That's a pretty big :stop: warning. I'll make a post apologizing to Ubisoft if Anno 2205 is great at launch, but this just seems like it's a shitty way of keeping sales high when they know they're going to launch a shitty game by not letting the public play it until embargo drops. It would not be the first time Ubisoft has pulled shitty tricks to avoid letting word about the game go out before it goes on sale. There could be other reasons, like not having the time to incorporate a public beta into the crunch to launch, especially with Ubisoft and its notoriously short deadlines, but that again ties into concerns of trying to hide things. I wasn't going to buy it anyway, so it doesn't make any difference to me, but I know at least someone who'd probably consider it. I guess we'll see. I wonder when the review embargo ends, since Ubi's been pretty terrible about that lately with launch stinkers.
Pre-orderers would be able to play the moon-mining strategy game before the November 3rd release date.
Pay in advance so you get to play the demo and see what the game is actually like long after you made your purchase! Wait, what?
Get ready for another broken Ubisoft game.
Since we now live in the times of easy refunds and a billion youtubers with press copies it doesn't matter that much. Deffo a big warning sign though, must be afraid of something.
