How do I stop Dolby Home Theater v4 from shutting off?

I love Dolby Home Theater v4, but one of its biggest flaws is that it will shut itself off whenever I start a voice chat with a friend (which, more often than not, happens while I'm in-game) or occasionally when a map loads in various games. I know it's caused by beginning communications in a game or over Skype, and it is easy to just tab out, turn it back on, and tab back into the game, but it's extraordinarily inconvenient and annoying. Is there any kind of file I can edit or script I can download that forces it to stay on no matter what I'm doing?
What if you right-click on the speaker in the tray, then Playback devices (or recording, doesn't matter). Then go to communication, then select do nothing.
I did that a long time ago, made no difference.

I'm absolutely sure this is a problem with DHT and not my speakers. I know when it turns off because the icon in the system tray turns gray and my bass boost is gone.
