First of all, T-Mobile sucks.
Anyway I'm finished with T Mobile. I'm going to be moving to Sprint for a variety of reasons. I've just got one major question on phones that I can get with Sprint. I've had a Google G1 for about a year now (since the day it was released) and its an alright phone I guess. The deal is I don't think I can go back to a shitty clunky GUI after using this sexy fucker.
If I'm going to sprint I'm probably tossing out this worn out G1 (by the way these fuckers are sturdier than they look. I've had this g1 for a year in and out of a body shop, dropped it more times than I can count, kicked it, threw it, used it to hammer shit, sat my fat ass down on it while its open, and it keeps on goin) but I'm gonna need a new smartphone to continue to function as a human being.
So my question is this: I've heard good things about the Palm Pre. And as far as I know that's the top of the line sprint phone. I haven't seen it up close except for the display model at Radioshack so I don't know anything about the os besides reviews.
Has anyone here used it in a day to day fashion? Is it any good? Or should I get something else? (I don't know anything about no flashing shit or whatever but can I maybe get the iPhone on Sprint?)
I just want a good smartphone on sprint, whether that means I get a pre or maybe another g1 or an iphone (if its possible to make those pricks work on sprint...?)
Sprint is a CDMA network. T-Mobile/AT&T are GSM. That means that G1/iPhone won't work on Sprint, and Pre won't work on their networks.
Beyond that, I haven't used a Pre, although I've heard they're pretty nice.
You have a foul mouth. Where's my soap
ive heard the palm pre is really good phone. lots of features and good service.
Sorry if this is a bit off topic, but will you consider selling your G1?
I guess incompatibility really narrows down my options then. That basically leaves me with the Pre, a blackberry, and I guess the lotus or something. I also happen to like qwerty keyboards because I text tons.
And I would sell the G1 I guess, its pretty useless to me on Sprint. But I've had it since the very first day (which was in... september? Of last year?) And work in a body shop which means its pretty dinged up around the corners and slightly scratched and stuff like that.

Wait a bit and get the Sprint version of the HTC Hero, it comes out October 11th.
