They should also add Steam Greenlight, another widely positively accepted Steam feature.
Ya know.
I didn't think it could get worse.
But it did.
If Steam Greenlight us anything to go by this will also end in tears unless it's really curated and handled correctly.
Curation
Windows Store
Are you serious? As much as I love my Windows Phone, I'm pretty much considering going onto android when my Lumia dies.
"What could be worse than Steam Early Access?!"
"Oh I know! Two Steam Early Access!"
you know, i don't really hate early access as an idea since it's basically pre-ordering except they let you play beta builds in the meantime, it's just that steam's implementation of it doesn't really protect customers much in the common case of the devs jumping ship halfway through development and running away with the early access money. or maybe the case of the game never reaching release.
so here's hoping microsoft can do it better?
Isn't Win 10 itself early access?
:v:
let developers sell unfinished games on its storefront, and also allowed players to sample in-development games free-of-charge before committing to purchase
If you guys read the fine print, this is much better than early access. Still no guarantee of avoiding fuckery but it allows you to try them before you buy them. When EA launched on steam, there wasn't even a limited refund option like there is now.
Honestly, any competition to Steam is good in my eyes.
