Hey there, I have a G9 at the moment, but it has serious problems with the wire, especially where it was crimped for packaging.
The metal wiring and plastic casing push through the fabric outter, meaning the bends remain in the wire.
I'm considering getting a new mouse because of this, and I'm not sure whether to get this G9x, or turn to an entirely different company.
So, does anyone know if the G9x has a similar problem to my G9?
Thanks.
I have the G9x, and don't have that problem, this mouse is badass.
If its in warrenty, I'm pretty sure they will send you a G9x because they stopped making G9s. Someone on FP did this like last year, if i remember correctly.

I see. May do so, cause it's annoying. Where would I find out if it's still in warranty?

I just checked when I ordered it, turns out it was 2 April 2009.
Unlikely to still be in warranty then?
You can check with your serial number. My G35 is good for like 2 years. My G9 is like 1 year.
Where would I find my serial number and warranty?
And how would I check with my serial number?
Had this problem since I got it. Probably Should have done something about it.

Yeah, my G9 had the grip peel issue and they sent me a shiny new G9x

How'd you contact them? And it looks like I may have lost the box, and likely any papers with it. Am I screwed? :sigh:

They have support numbers on the website. I love their support, they're way nicer and more polite than some of the other people I've talked to.
I think parts warranty is 3 years, product is 2 years. The serial number is on the end of the USB cable. The plastic tag.
Ah yes, so it is, thanks. I'll give them a ring tomorrow and see what I can do. Thanks all.
Wow.
I am VERY glad I made this thread, you guys just saved me £70! Thank you very much.
I just emailed them the problems and they just shipped me a new one on the day, received it this morning.
Once again, thank you very much.
I personally hate both the G9 and G9x.
If the problem's just in the wire you could easily replace it.

Good to hear, logitech is pretty awesome with warranty's, unless it's accidental.

I agree. At first they were real mean to me when my G3's microswitch went bad. Since it was still in warranty, I decided to give them a call. Which I did, and they told me they wouldn't repair it because of the cost. I was absolutely dumb founded by that, and made them aware that this is apart of their warranty. They stood strong about not replacing it, instead I made them send me a microswitch. They gave me a bag filled with at least 50 in there. Im set for life.
