• Youtube is slower then it should be

I know youtube is slow, but it cant be this slow. I it takes me 2 minutes and 30 seconds to buffer a 2 minute video at 320p, sometimes more. 480 loads a bit better IF IM LUCKY. Most of my friends say they load 480p way better blah blah blah, well not me. For 720p, it loads better on my phone for christs sake. Took me an hour and a half to load freddiew's The Golf War video at 720p. The odd thing is, when i was living in Texas videos loaded fine. Then i had shittier internet, and lived 4 states away from youtube's main servers (from what i know of). Now, i live in new mexico which is 3 states away from youtube's servers. This pisses me the fuck off, cause i have superb "server hosting quality" internet. Here's my speed test http://www.speedtest.net/result/1724734844.png
I've noticed that some YT videos take longer or much longer to load than other videos also. I think YT tries to distribute videos amongst servers and some are more heavily loaded than others, resulting in extreme slowness. The time of day also has some pull in the problem as peak usage hours will cripple already overloaded servers and make loading times unbearable. It could also be a bad router somewhere along the data path on the internet. Most browsers will show the URL of the video they're trying to load at the bottom of the page, you could try tracerouting the address and see if it's either YT or some bad connection somewhere.
Yeah, tell me about it. I have about 20Mb/s down with Time Warner Cable and the same crap happens to me all the time. It's really frustrating as I see no reason for it to occur.
I've discovered that Youtube apparently throttles the amount of bandwidth it allocates to each IP, because if my family is also watching youtube videos mine will load slower, even though it's hardly using any of my available bandwidth or router capacity.
