• What do you think of the younger generation?

I know that this is not the debate part of the forums, but hey. I am fairly young, most of the younger generation (At least in the part of the UK where I live) act like they are something, or are just complete idiots. I do not mean social groups or anything, I mean just the younger generation in general. I would like to know as I am writing a project for my English class. By the way, if this thread is in the wrong section, tell me and I will place it in the debate section.
Immature and spoiled. Not all of them. But some. Others are just like the last generations. All in all, pretty similar to the past. I doubt there's been that much of a change. If anything, there's more racial diversity (in some places) and more religious/racial/etc. tolerance (in some places).

Pretty much, yes.
It's just the same as the last generation was, really. The older generation always says that the younger generation are a bunch of shitheads, and laments that their generation was so innocent and much better. In reality, it's not true. We do tend to look back at our childhood with rose-tinted glasses. What you're experiencing right now is a normal stage of human development, in which we all try to prove and distinguish ourselves from the crowd in the loudest and most obnoxious way possible. It will pass, like all things, so let them be how they are for now.

Then again kids have always been like this, I can't remember which one it was, but one greek philosopher said something like "Children are loud, have terrible manners and talk down to their elders" bearing in mind this is something-BC we're talking about here, not much has changed.
Younger generations are a product of their environment. This is how it's been since time immemorial, but it feels like recent generations have been shittier products.

When our generation was young then generations above us thought we were the crappiest generation.
They're the future of society. Maybe.
They're the future of society. Maybe.
No, they're definitely the future. The question is, will it be a good one?
They're the same as us, except with the ability to let the world see them via YouTube, Twitter, etc. When they hit a certain age, they'll delete all that shit and grow up. Edit: I should mention I'm 18, so I'd consider myself part of the first group that people can say "grew up" with stuff like MySpace and YouTube, since that came out right as we were turning 11, and I was really into YouTube when i was younger.
I just thought that I would give my opinion, even though I made the thread. I am 15, I am told I am mature for my age (Not all the time) and I do feel that I am from a completely different generation than most of the people in my town. The way people act is rather different from the way that I would act. I feel that if I do something wrong, I would get stabbed or something dreadful like that. I kind of get alienated from most of my school as I dress differently and listen to metal music whereas most of the people from my school either are stoners or wear tracksuit bottoms and hoodies, going around a saying words or phrases of wisdom, such as "You get me, blood? I am going to shank you up yeah?". Think of my town as the stereotypical village of teenagers.
The older generations are no better, matter of fact, they are worse, they aught to know better.

I'm guessing you probably have a friend or two who are on the border, kinda like me. As I said earlier, I'm mates with the stoners in our school, they are also the peeps who got me into graff. I've got friends who I've known for years, I mean I remember when they where 3 and cried when I wouldn't share toys and the like, now they're carrying knives around and selling drugs. It makes me feel a little sad.
some of them might seem like twats now, but i'm sure most of them will turn out okay.
