Just got a G6 the other day, and I'm liking it so far. After I replaced as much of the LG bloatware with stock android apps as possible and switched launchers I don't really have any issues with it. The fingerprint thing is really snappy and the extra wide angle camera's been handy a few times. The article isn't wrong about it mostly just being a worse version than the S8, but when my phone was bust and I had to buy a new one out of pocket having an option $300 cheaper with pretty similar features was nice.
I'm not surprised after how many of their phones have had bootloop problems. I'm never buying an LG phone again.
I'm on my second LG G5. The first one was a shitshow. It came without literally almost anything installed on it other than the most basic stuff (not including anything else like the apps to use half the hardware features on the damn thing (remote, wide angle camera, etc)) until it started a bootloop of death and finally just straight up died completely in less than 4 days. Current one is pretty decent and doesn't have much in the way of problems other than that despite the phone having a case, the faux metal rear is chipping in several places slightly. Oh and fuck that USB C mini whatever port. The thing is awful to the point where it basically intentionally pops the charger out by itself now because of how weak the little internal grips or w/e are.
I've had a V20 for a little while now, theres literally no point in the G6 since its essentially very similar
shame. my first smartphone was an lg optimus 2x. i liked it a lot
I've got a G5 and I love it. I'm tempted to go for the G6 next but the rumour is that LG are making the Pixel 2
