Okay, I'm having a really weird situation here, but since I'm clueless and it isn't that hard to ask on the internet, here goes:
my dad this morning noticed that our dogs had brought something in the courtyard... Turns out it's a hedgehog. Well confused, he checked him out; the little being, apart from some broken quills, wasn't wounded and seemed to be moving slightly... So, being in a hurry, my dad just took the hedgehog to the barnyard and covered him in some potato sacks and old rags.
Point is, it's goddamn freezing weather out here: it's been down to minus 30 Celsius and even less degrees out there last couple days/weeks (although, bit warmer now - just barely about minus 10-20 Celsius). And THICK snow everywhere.
Now, I'm no hedgehog expert, but, as far as I know, they're hibernating trough the winter (which leaves me and my dad even more wtf?, because where the fuck the dogs found that poor thing if he was supposed to be hidden somewhere deep ass). And I'm no hibernating expert, but, as far as I know, pulling an animal out of hibernating in winter can fuck up his metabolism and cause him some survival/health problems or whatever.
So, recently, we came home and dad asked me to check out if the hog is still there/alive. Yeah, he was, looking okay, breathing okay. Now, honestly, this leaves us pretty much clueless of what to do now. Leave it in the barn? Cover with more stuff? It's freezing minus 20 out there at nights. Bring some food to it? Really, I wouldn't call myself a pacifist, PETA, animal lover or whatever, but since we're completely clueless and since posting on the internet is easy, and since disposing of a dead hedgehog is nasty, I'm asking here - is there anything we can/should do, or should I start preparing a shovel?
don't you have any local wildlife/animal rescue centres you could take him too?
they deal with this kind of stuff all the time, and will be able to look after it far better

Sorry, at the time I created my X360 profile, my country wasn't in the list, so I had to take a random country and use a fake postal code. Im from LV.
If back to topic; there should be some kind of healthcare center or veterinary, and taking it to one would make sense, we had such an option already, we just thought if it's worth the hassle and if we're overreacting or not or whatever...
You know what? I don't think there are any hedghog experts here. But why don't you just call a local veterinary. They can probably help you better then we can.
Its natural habitat is 2D worlds picking up coins and going really fast. Try strapping it to your car and drive really fast and have a friend throw coins at it.
Help it leave it's misury

You know what to do, you are human. Help him survive the cold and wish him Godspeed when he moves on.

If the coins don't work, attack it to a rocket propelled skateboard and throw funyun rings at it. Occasionally curl it up into a ball, spin the hedgehog really fast, and then throw it at something mechanical. OH, and spray paint it blue.
