So I'm tired of my Motherboard's USB ports losing power, I guess my Mechanical keyboard with it's back lights and a G9x mouse are too much for it (that's all I have plugged in).
So I guess a I need a higher power USB hug, with it's own power source or something, because even my monitor's built in power hub often goes out. Damn power hungry keyboard.
Just get a PCI (or PCI-E) USB card, maybe even USB 3.0.

I don't trust my Mobo's (EX58-UD3R) circuitry, would that affect the card's performance?
I don't think they should just be dropping out like that. USB only supports 500 mA on one port. Why would they design something that would draw that much power and not include its own power supply? Methinks something else is up.

A normal PCI-e USB card shouldn't give you any problems really.

Allot of companies don't follow the specififications for USB, because they are profit maximizing
Also, the x58 chipset has always had power issues like this.

I've just never heard of that before.
If you need a hub, I recommend this one. http://www.amazon.com/Plugable-USB-Port-Power-Adapter/dp/B00483WRZ6/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1318658738&sr=8-2
I bought one for my old computer that only had like 2 USB ports and it's great. Well built has two flip up ports for flashdrives and such. It has ports on both sides if you have stuff you want to plug from the front, etc.
My new computer has USB ports out the ass so I don't have a use for it anymore.
I really don't think a hub will help, if the ports lose power, they'rep robably losing connectivity too, it's best to just get a PCI card imo.
