Currently my price range is going to be around 100-200 dollars but basically I'm just trying to make my computer able to run stuff like S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and Fallout 3 on Highest settings without trouble. Current stuff - Radeon X1300/X1550 Series (0x7183) 2 Gigs of Ram AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4400+ - Also looking to change this in the near future I'd appreciate any suggestions as I don't know a lot about actual parts.. and I really hope this is the right section.
Not upgradeable. Save up around $500 for a decent build that can run said games.
Thats an am2 CPU so you wont be able to upgrade it with that motherboard. And it would probably bottleneck any decent GPU to high hell. Save up.
Shit :(
It depends what motherboard he has
I'd need to find that out, where can I check what type/model I have?
Good point, OP get Piraform speccy and post the results, Ill grab a link [editline]11:17PM[/editline] http://www.piriform.com/speccy
I would suggest getting this graphics card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150482&cm_re=4850-_-14-150-482-_-Product And another 2GB stick of RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231203&cm_re=ddr2_ram_2gb-_-20-231-203-_-Product Total about $153 This all depends on what motherboard and RAM you currently have

lol at "Generic PNP Monitor" Save $700 for entire new build.
Yeah you wont be able to upgrade the CPU with that MoBo :saddowns:
Yeah you wont be able to upgrade the CPU with that MoBo :saddowns:
Will the CPU be much a problem..? I'd ideally not like to have to re-build the whole thing.. it cost 500ish as is and its not very old
If I were you http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817341017&cm_re=OCZ_MODXSTREAM-_-17-341-017-_-Product http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150482 Use "Bigsave20" coupon code for 20% off that PSU.
Well that's two recommendation for the same Graphics card, the RAM couldn't hurt... but I'm a bit confused by the PSU suggestion...
Your current specs are bad, i suggest you save up for a completely new build.
I upgraded from those specs a few months ago. Although I did have a Core 2 duo instead. Yeah, a restart might end up better for you.

Something better and sometimes cheaper is released. And if you bought that PC within the last year...you made a bad choice. Save up $500 and build a new one. Sell your current one to make the difference if you don't have enough. I can see you getting $150 for that rig.
