Windows OS magically stopped working after installing SSD, can't view User folder

i installed my new SSD, and my regular windows install wouldn't work anymore (I didn't touch the drive other than maybe possibly move it to another SATA port) no matter what, it'd throw a 'no operating system found' error and i had no repair options so i just installed windows on my SSD, but now when I try to access the users directory of my old HDD it gets stuck

i told it to optimize for general items, that didn't work.
every other folder works fine really (and I have a bunch of important shit like music and fucking app projects in my user folder). even the windows folder works fine
you need administrator rights to modify/obtain access to the folder, as it's owned by another user
I usually resort to 7zFM as admin, then I don't have to fuck around with NTFS permissions
OH THANK FUCK all my shit is still there, thank god.
thanks. but would anyone be able to explain the sudden-corrupt install?
literally explained it
its owned by another user
aka not you
your new user on your new install of windows has another UID so it will throw a shit at you
change owner access so your NEW user owns it and give yourself permissions
They mean booting from Y:
i tried booting from the same drive as i normally do after installing my (blank) SSD, and it threw a fit
unless i'm missing something
still need to change permissions regardless if there's no guest/everyone set
but then your privacy is at risk
hmmm
You wouldn't if you're booting to the operating system which is the user who owned it in the first place
you should know this
NTFS permissions are the most god-awful FS-related thing invented. Ever.
