• Random SSD disconnects? (I believe so)

Got a problem, over the past 2 days my PC has randomly started crashing. Now essentially, the problem is with my SSD (I have a crucial M4 128GB). After about an hour after bootup (I haven't recorded times) every single program on my computer will crash around the same time apart from anything NOT installed on my SSD (apart from steam which is stored on my other hard drive, not my SSD). I cannot run task manager using CTRL + SHIFT + ESC, and CTRL + ALT + DEL does nothing. It has crashed now about 5 times or so (only been using my PC at night) Every single time after it crashes if I press the restart button my BIOS no longer detects my SSD and thus changes the drive to auto boot from my second drive and its annoying to change it back. If I then power off my computer and turn it back on, my BIOS detects the drive... I have tried using a different SATA port as well as a different cable and the problem persists. Any help? The only thing I can think of is my power supply is fucked (something to do with it not having enough power after a while or some shit?) Or that my SSD is just.. fucked. Also I failed to mention, I ran a S.M.A.R.T scan and it passed everything, said it was in perfect health and performance. The SSD is just over a year old. This is the blue screen that will eventually occur after about 2 minutes of having all programs crashed (I can still move the mouse during this time) http://i.imgur.com/TZIVil6.jpg
Is TRIM enabled on your SSD? Windows 7/8: http://lifehacker.com/5640971/check-if-trim-is-enabled-for-your-solid-state-drive-in-windows-7 And to confirm, you've never had anything like this before - ever - with your conventional spindle drive? Is this a clean install, or is it cloned over from an older drive? There are compatibility issues when cloning over drives sometimes. If TRIM is enabled and this is a clean install, you may be looking at an RMA. [editline]30th January 2013[/editline] why the hell is there a mouse pointer on that blue screen? :v:

In response to the spindle drive question - no, not that I know of, I can't ever remember it happening. No idea why the mouse is there XD I believe its a clean install. Just tried swapping the power cable that connects to the SSD. Possibly a faulty connector? I guess its worth eliminating every possible problem until the real one shows up. Will report back if its fixed/still fucked [editline]30th January 2013[/editline] Right on queue it crashed, I just tried swapping the SATA cable to port 2 on my motherboard (the port I originally swapped it to with the older cable) just in case it makes some form of change. I will try the hot swap bay on the top of my case after if it crashes.. EDIT: It did crash, is now in the hot swap bay, I'm running out of options, I might try and run it in another PC as its boot drive (will most likely insta blue screen due to drivers and such) after this, if that also fails then I guess its RMA time Q_Q

The SSD is almost certainly faulty - you've done the right thing and eliminated everything else - so the drive is at fault here.
