• Fatal Error: Failed to load platform modules, steam error

well, i started up steam to play jc2 and as it was logging in to my account is gave me "Fatal Error: Failed to load platform modules" and then it stopped responding and died, tried again, same response, googled it, followed directions on steam forums, to no prevail, please help
Go to your steam folder and delete everything but Steam.exe and the steamapps folder. Run Steam again and it should be able to start itself.

Steam will re-download all the platform modules and basically everything it needs to run. Deleting steamapps isn't required, because it only contains information and data about games and media and tools, but not about the steam platform itself.
Yeah, if you delete steamapps, you get to redownload all your games :v:

No you don't. You only need Steam.exe It will redownload Steam.dll
can someone help me? i've run into this problem, except none of the suggested solutions work. can someone please help with this
