didn't they want this to sell 5 million copies?
the more news that comes out the less and less I can see it selling
And one more reason to spit on it.
I liked the first 2, didn't love them enough to blow another 60 bucks on a game that isn't even fully supportive on pc.
Fuck this game.
I was really pulling for this game. I am now conflicted.
At this rate I really wouldn't be surprised to see on-disk DLC that's to be announced a month later or some other random dickmove from the big book of dickmoves towards customers
I keep telling my friend Dead Space has turned to shit
This is more conclusive, that they really did fuck it over
This is like fifth thread where I want to quote my old post
thanks for ruining one of my favorite game series ea
Quite the opposite of the other Dead Space ports, which ran wonderfully, they were even polite enough to let the player know to turn off V-Sync. (Why exactly did V-Sync fuck up the controls so much anyways?)
ah fuck. the game itself looks really good but no higher res textures for pc? that's just ridiculous.
well this site is literally the worst and ive never heard of their source (who doesn't have any proof) so uhh I'm not jumping on the "omg EA ruined my life" train here
The next gen consoles couldn't come sooner
This shit is fucking ridiculous
I didn't mind the dead space 2 pc version. The textures and all seemed like a total console port, but I still thought the game was gorgeous. As long as the controls are as spot-on in dead-space 3 as they were in 2, I'll totally purchase it.

the next gen will probably be behind too
I think the game itself looks pretty fun, but yeah that's a shitty decision.

So we won't be able to even play poor next gen ports? Yay!
When Dead Space 2 came out, I bought the CE and finished the game 3 times in 2 days, each run with different weapons. When microtransaction news came out, it didn't matter to me because I know I'll be playing for more than 1 run.
This news breaks my heart a little. However, this article and its source said that there will not be HD textures nor DX11, or in other terms, it does not contain any graphical differences. It doesn't say anything about the mouse+keyboard controls (Both articles state that it is a straight console port, but the way they state it sounds just like Fox News or Daily Mail)
Maybe I'm still in denial, maybe I'm not. I understand that EA has to find a different way to generate revenue before any further fuck ups (see THQ, and also market maturity I guess), but so far their proposed solutions affects their products in a bad way (Like how Metro Last Light supposedly(?) having harder difficulty as DLC).
...as if it was even necessary, EA gives us even more of a reason not to buy DS3. Yay. I wouldn't be surprised at all to find the options menu so devoid of useful settings that I couldn't coax it to run on my aging machine like I can a good PC port...which is fine because I'm not buying it anyway, but still.
And one more reason to spit on it.
Nah, it isn't even worth wasting your spit on.
I don't really trust this article's source. I might just be in denial but it just kinda says "Visceral told us this at a vaguely defined 'event' that may have happened a certain period of time ago, you should flip your shit over this information"
even if this is true, the only reason not to get DS3 that's actually concrete is that you don't like the microtransactions, which may or may not also turn out to be a load of baloney depending on how necessary they are in order to enjoy the game. I can live with graphics that look kind of like a load of sculpted porridge if the game is as good as I'm confident it will be.
the next gen will probably be behind too
better than what we currently have though
It's a shame, but hardly a deal breaker. If the controls are fine, and the port is optimized, I'm not going to hate a game cause it doesn't have HD textures or gimmick DX11 features I won't care about nor notice
"You can buy resources with real money, but scavenger bots can also give you the currency that you can use on the marketplace,"
Lol, EA.
I am never buying a full priced game with a cash shop ever again. If they remove it or it goes on sale for $5 I'll consider it.
Killed it.
GG EA
Guys I know what the first PC DLC is gonna be. PC support, if you do not buy this dlc you can expect to see all on screen commands to use xbox controls and will only be able to play with a controller with no mouse and keyboard support. There will be no graphics options other than screen resolution unless you buy this DLC, then all the usual graphical options will be included.
When I read the part about real world money being swappable for in game shit, I knew that EA had a hand in this even without knowing anything about the dead space series beforehand. It's a shame, because it seems to have been cool. Seems to have been.

why isn't it cool now
why isn't it cool now
Because EA is directly exerting influence on it. When that happens, its' not going to be long before whatever vestige of the game you love is turned into brown shitwater flowing through the series' veins as it's transformed into a cash cow.
