I think this sale has been kinda shit, I bought 2 games of which neither were on the daily deal sales.

This summer sale has been a pretty big let down
This summer sale has been a pretty big let down
Everyone always says this on the last two days of the sale. I don't think this one was better or worse than any previous ones, just had a lot more of Valve desperately trying to push the news cards thing.
I still don't know what the trading cards are all about but I have a load of them
Holding out until the winter sale to pickup FC3, GRID 2, and Kerbal.
Winter Sale = mega steep discounts
Got Sleeping Dogs, Euro Truck, and Kerbal. Good sale for me
I don't really get where you guys are coming from with this.
Natural Selection 2 - one year old - 75%
Borderlands 2 - one year old - 66%
The Witcher 2 - one year old - 75%
Saints row: The Third - two years old - 75%
Tomb Raider - less than one year old - 75%
Hitman: Absolution - one year old - 75%
Total War: Shogun 2 - two years old - 75%
+lots of really good older games & indie games 75%
Are these bad deals? I might not have bought many games this year myself but that is because I've already grabbed most of them for the same prices on earlier sales. Maybe Steam should stop with all the sales because people are becoming so entitles that anything that isn't 90% off a a month old game apparently is a "meh" deal :v:
Square of entitlement

I think it's the gimmicks killing the sales a bit myself. We aren't seeing the massive deals on collections, or they aren't advertised if they exist because Valve are pushing the ~next big thing~ to quell the ADHD Steam users who can't go a day without collecting collectables.
But the deals in the sale were all fairly strong. Blood Dragon for a few quid, Anno 2070 (a friend convinced me it's interesting, it is), Trials Evolution for £8. Along with tons of other games that are about a year old for less than a tenner. It's pricing was pretty great.
I got a shit load of games for free thanks to selling all the cards, I dont know what you guys are talking about
I got a bunch of games from it I didn't have already so I thought it was a damn good sale
I know I made like 10$ of selling backgrounds
got me Nuclear Dawn and Torchlight 2

Actually I'm not stating that I'm entitled to anything in any way, I'm saying that this sale has been kinda shit because in past sales I actually bought games, this one, not really.

Maybe entitlement was taking it a little far. I just find it really annoying when people call steam sales "shit" just because they already own 60% of the games on Steam or have a really narrow taste in games. I mean come on, these are some of the best games of last years for a quarter of the store price and you call it a shit sale?
Wouldn't call it a bad sale, really. I've picked up Fallout 2, New Vegas, FTL, World of Goo, XCOM Enemy Unknown and Bioshock Infinite.
I already had most of the big titles that I would've otherwise really wanted by the time the sales began. With Fall will come a flood of new games that will make for great sales during December.
This sale has had too many god damned repeats, the flash sales have been the absolute worst in that regard.
I think I might be the only guy who got Blood Dragon for $6 from the entire sale
This wasn't a bad sale, it's just that there aren't a lot of great new games and people own most of the old ones they want already.

I've enjoyed voting to put good games on sale. I don't buy PC games often, so (hopefully) pushing people to pick up some games I enjoyed has been pretty fun.

I do love the idea of the community choice. There's usually at least one game in a vote I know and would like people to play :v:
Lets see...
Bioshock infinite
6 copies of kerbal space program which I handed out, might buy more and hand em out.
Strike Suit Zero bundle + infinite + all dlc including pretty good soundtrack
Roller Coaster Tycoon 3
Age of empires 2 HD
So all in all It was pretty good but eeh idk.
Idk it's been pretty sweet for me, got Strike Suit Zero and Infinity, bought my friend a game, and 2 of my friends got Dark Souls, a game which we can play together. I'd say it was a pretty good one, only thing is it's hard to live up to the hype that comes before.
Way too many repeats.
If you saw a game on the voting section, you knew that all of them would eventually come on flash sales or daily deal anyway.
I didn't see too many games that interested me. I was gifted the New Vegas complete pack, and I'm probably going to pick up Starforge Alpha before the sale ends.
Most of the killer dealers this sale were games I didn't give a shit about or games I already had.
This summer sale has been a pretty big let down
they focused too much on cards and badges and less on good sales imo
