Long story short-
Tried installing a Minecraft mod but it broke my minecraft so I was told to delete my Java folder and now when I try to install Java it gives me the message "This software has already been installed on your computer. Would you like to reinstall it? Yes / No". I found this weird because it shouldn't be installed. If I click Yes a load bar quickly pops up and than it gives me the same message from before, and If I click yes on that--nothing happens & Java seems to still not exist on my computer.
I haven't been in Tech Support before so I don't know if its neccisary to post my system specs but I will if someone asks me to.
& I'm on Windows XP
seriously?
You thought deleting your Java folder would uninstall Java...
Try cleaning your registry, Java left some stuff behind. Next time, only delete your minecraft/bin folder :argh:
Just cleaned my registry, nothing changed
I just sacrificed my Java folder, I get the same error.
Gonna try to fix it now v:v:v
Wait you sacrificed it just for me? Oh my god... thank you
I found this piece of software to be instrumental in the complete removal of an entire installed program:

Maybe it will fix your problem.
Looks like Java fucks with OS files.
I removed every single trace of it on my hard drive and it's still being a bitch :v:
Trying Revo now.

Revo works perfectly.
Use it on the "java tm x update"
Do an advanced scan and remove all the registry keys it lists. If the worst happens, this magnificent piece of software makes a backup of your registry.
Really? Then this may be one time where a system restore might actually do any good.
It's annoying that a simple, innocent mistake such as deleting the Java folder can cause something like that to happen.
Also, Revo may not find any recognizable trace of Java now that you've done all that.
Yay, it worked. Thank you guys so much I would of been fucked without you guys.
