• Problems with Internet Explorer

For the past few days I always get these annoying popups from Internet Explorer. The weird thing is that I'm not even using IE, I'm using Chrome. Now these started to really piss me off when I played TF2 and other online fullscreen games and the whole round was ruined by a fucking popup. I noticed that sometimes when I go to task manager on the processes tab there's a bunch of "iexplorer.exe" things which even if I "end process" will reappear later. As far as I'm concerned I would have deleted IE a long time ago but it won't let me and the program doesn't appear on the uninstall list of control panel -> programs and features. Any idea what I could do?
Delete the IE folder in Programme Files.
I tried to do that but it wouldn't let me delete it, it says "some programs could not work without these files" or something like that. BTW I just noticed the sticky thread here so if this thread doesn't belong here could an admin move this thread to tech support?
If it's Win 7 you can remove IE from the control panel. And do a virus/malware scan.
Are you running the latest version? Because if you install the latest version it might solve your problems.
its probably a malware service that starts a bunch of ie windows. look for weird stuff under the services tab.
Are you running the latest version? Because if you install the latest version it might solve your problems.
If you're certain you can't rid yourself of it and you're running IE7 try an upgrade to IE8. You could try Unlocker or LockHunter to remove the files.
I'm on vista but I'm not sure I have the latest IE, and it might be a virus or something since other programs like steam aren't working like they used to lately I'll run a virus scan and if the problem is still there I'll let you guys know.
deleting the IE folder is relatively easy u just gotta be admin on ur computer then u gotta take ownership of the folder
