My current computer runs on Windows XP and shitty hardware. I bought a new computer(building my own) and I'm using my HDD on my current shitty computer for my new awesome computer. I'm installing Vista too. What my question is, is that I'm wondering if I should just plug in my HDD on my new computer and run the Windows Vista disc or use a program like DBAN and erase my whole HDD then install Windows Vista to avoid any compatibilty problems or whatever since my computer is used to shit hardware and xp.
I'd recommend reformatting, though I don't know much about using programs to wipe hard-drives.
If you can afford it, just buy another one with your, "new awesome computer," :p.
500GB For 50$, 1TB for 85$.
This one is new so I have no intention of shelling out more money for a HDD when this one works perfectly fine.
I also don't have my Windows XP disc.
bump
Isn't it possible to format it with the Vista disc?
Not sure. It's not an upgrade disc. I'm thinking of just using DBAN to wipe it clean or some program so I can install Vista on there.
