hey so I've got an old intel i7-2600K and an old corsair TX850M from my girlfriend's old pc, and I'd like to know how/if i should use these in a new pc
my issue is that I don't really know anything about chipsets/CPUs or PSUs in general and I'm not sure what motherboard this core would fit in to or if the core or psu are any good in general
i'm probably going to get a gtx 980 and 8 gb of ram, so really all I'd like to know is what mobo to get or if I should just ditch this old cpu and/or psu and get new ones?
my budget for a pc is £1000 so i'd save a significant chunk of the money if I did re-use these parts, but if they're not worth reusing i'm up for spending the extra money
Yeah you can save a nice chunk of change with that. Get this. Top notch performance, and you can overclock the CPU a good bit. A 2600k still gives great performance, especially while overclocked. The TX series is a solid line of PSU's as well.
