i just upgraded from 4 gb dual channel ram to an 8 gb dual channel ram and when i start recording with fraps it's unstable and its records at 10-40 fps but before when i had the 4 gb ram it recorded at 60 flat.
here are my related specs

amd phenom 2 1090t x6 cpu
I doubt you'd ever need 8gb. Why not use the 4gb of ram?

Oh, or you can overclock your memory frequecy.
oh and i forgot to mention i noticed a little more speed when shit loads or when i alt tab into shit so it works and it gets detected as 8 gigs so i know it's correctly in
i kinda fucked up and it wont fix in the post under this one that i made. i can't edit it
Can you post your 4gb ram names for comparison?
You should try a different codac for fraps, fraps really relies on CPU and hard-disk speed. If your hard-disk speed is low then you should go for a compression codac. If you have low CPU and high disk speed then you should go for a lossless codac.
RAM plays a role in everything but the 8gb ram you have is above average speed. It shouldn't cause you any problems.
aight. but whyd it slow down after i installed the new ram? when i had the 4 gigs fraps recorded perfectly now it's all weird. anyways here's my old ram: super talent w1333ua2gv
