Hey guys, first of all here is my computer:
CPU: AMD Athlon II X4 630 2.80 GHz
GPU: ATI Radeon HD 5700 Series (I'm pretty sure it's a 5750)
RAM: 4.0 GB
Using W7 Home Premium. I've been talking to my dad lately about my computer, got it in January or so and I want to upgrade something but I'm not sure what I should upgrade. I'm definitely gonna get more RAM, hopefully around 8 GB or so. I want to upgrade something else too though, but I'm not sure if I should get a new GPU or CPU or if there is anything else I could upgrade? What should I replace/upgrade and what should I replace/upgrade it with?
Oh, and I'm also getting a new monitor for my computer as I'm currently using an old 1280x1024 flat screen from 06/07 or something and I wanna get a widescreen - Do you have any tips?
Oh and one more thing. This may sound dumb but I guess I'll never know if I never ask: If I buy a new montior with a higher resolution, will that effect my computer performance when I play a game? Will I have lower FPS?
Don't upgrade your RAM. Get a 5970 with a 24" monitor. Or more.
Another more ram is better victim.
4 is more than enough for gaming.
Give us a budget, where do you live?

Is that some joke?
No more RAM? Alright, thanks, that'll save me alot of money. My budget, hmm, not too sure since it's mainly my dad but perhaps around 100-250 pounds/150-300 dollars for the PC upgrade and about the same amount extra for the monitor. I'd like to get some specific tips for the monitors because I've never been into buying monitors and have no idea what to look for at all.

A 5970 would be way too expensive for me. It costs almost as much as my hole computer did.

Hmm, I guess I could work around with a little more money for the computer part, let's say up to 350 pounds/450 dollars or so. Doesn't have to cost exacly that much/little; I'll find a way to work around the price.
Are you gonna buy online or at a store? What's your motherboard?
Get a 5850 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150477 , and for the monitor... Get say.. what ever you feel like depending on how big a screen you want.
Damn, I'm not sure how to see what motherboard I have... How do I do it?

Nevermind, I found the box.
Asus M4A78LT-M LE it says.
Get a HD5850 and a 1920x1080 res monitor.
Looked that card up on the site I'm most likely going to buy from (Swedish).
It gave me 3 results of the same card but with different... something.

The three top results, what's the differense between them?

Also, would I have to replace my old graphic card to use the 5850 one?
Seeing as your motherboard only has one PCIe2 slot, you would indeed be replacing your old card.

Alright.
Hmmm, still have no idea what is the difference between those 3 cards.
My swedish is rusty but i can tell you, the top card looks reference, stock just as ati told them to make it, second on is factory overclocked, the thrid one just has a different cooler and maybe comes with a game..
go for the first one if your case has decent airflow.
Ah alright, thanks.
