Don't want to bump a August thread. We really need to get Folding@Home back around here.
/shamless stealing begins here

Team Name: Facepunch Studios Folding

So how can I help?
Basically, you grab a folding client, one that would work best for your specs, install it, and begin folding. There may need to be some configuration depending on your network settings, but for nearly everyone, it will work right out of the box.
The Clients
For an average mid ranged PC, try these clients.

High performance PCs, try these clients.

Let's fold out some diseases!
I've never used folding@home before, would this be a program I could run for 6-8 weeks at a time without doing anything? (I left my "Main" system at home when I went to school, would only be able to start/restart the program during breaks.)
I believe so.
Hahaha, I just got back into folding for the facepunch team (Which there are 5 of, Go for Facepunch Studio's one, It has more points).
I would also reccomend downloading a GPU or MultiCore Client as they rip it up in terms of speed.

Remember, These things take TIME, I've been working on a single work unit for a day or two with the GPU Client.
It doesn't support a 5870 D:
How much bandwidth does it use? and will i be able to play games(tf2) during said folding?

I assume the bandwidth use is pretty low unless you're downloading new work. I'm also pretty sure the program is set to be a low-priority process, so you can do other things while it's running, and the program will just use the processor when it's idle.
Also joined. I'm running the GPU client on my tm2 tablet (with a Radeon 4550). I'll try to get it running on my other laptop tomorrow.

It supports my 5850, you have to add -r770 or something to a shortcut. Look it up and it'll tell you how.
Bandwidth is low You can also limit it to -5 MB a workload, 5mb a workload or 10mb+ A Workload and workloads take a while, You can set it to how much processor usage you want for it too so thats usefull.
I've had my home server folding for Facepunch Studios for a few weeks now. Rank 15.
Damn I haven't folded in ages. My SMP is ageing.
I'll add my computers to this team. Gotta love CUDA on a Fermi card
I've added my crappy i3 laptop which takes 20 hours for a big unit.
