Hey, I just bought LCD TV and got it mounted into a wall. So the problem I encounter is:
I have tv connected to PC via HDMI cable. And it works just fine, but how can I make it automatically take sound from PC and play it from TV speakers?
Atm in order to hear sound from film on Tv, I have to turn on PC speakers. Any way to not? I mean like open media player, play film set it to full screen on second desktop (TV) and so it plays from TV speakers? or anythng similar? help?
What video card? Some don't do sound through HDMI. If it is capable of it, the option should appear under

this list somewhere, then right click and set it as default. If it doesn't, then you might be able to use a TOSLINK, RCA, or possibly just a 3.5mm aux cable to the TV. Depends on the TV, though.
Regarding this, is there any way to use two audio channels? I have my speakers plugged into the integrated soundcard, and a hdmi cable to the TV, both are able to transmit audio, but what I would like is to for instance have ventrilo transmit the sound through my speakers, whilst the audio from a movie can run through the TV speakers.

Ventrilo has settings that determine what sound device it plays it through.

In ventrilo, select your PC speaker output as output, with the HDMI as main, or the other way around (set the media player's output as the HDMI out, keep PC speakers as main. Some players might not allow this.).
Well thing is that it isn't working. For the media player audio stream to be able to play through the hdmi, i have to use that as a default audio device, then the ventrilo settings don't seem to matter

What does changing the speakers to the default communication device do?

Thanks that worked. Can you suggest some program that would help me manage both? Because at the moment, I have a screen on both flickering like once a minute. Which is quite annoying.
Ok that didn't really work actually. I got HD5770 video card.
5770 should have audio out through HDMI, post a picture of your playback devices please. You may have to restart the application after you change your sound output for it to use the new device.

Then you cannot stream sound through it.
Must be only newer cards than can push audio through DVI? (Or Nvidia in general)
My 560ti sends audio over a DVI-HDMI cable (DVI end at GPU) perfectly.
(Why the disagree?)
DVI is video only iirc. You'd be fine if the monitor had an HDMI in.
Some cards can do audio through their DVI out to HDMI with the adapter that came with the card, DVI can't normally do audio, though. Your card has an HDMI audio so there's some way to do it, is there a display port or maybe a mini HDMI port on the card?

Most cards can do audio over DVI-HDMI, even my old GTX 275
The only requirement is a specific DVI-HDMI adapter, for example only the one that came with my 6970 works for audio.
Mine worked with the DVI-HDMI lead that came with my monitor.
Maybe I got lucky.
Edit: Some quick research reveals that the audio data for HDMI is sent down the same TMDS lines as the video, the same TMDS lines that DVI has.

nopel it's some kind of mini edition. Has only 2 DVI ports.
