Well that sucks.
So the game sucks ass I take it?
It's not a 10/10 but I thought it was really fun.
So the game sucks ass I take it?
Its aight. It's got its issues but it's a solid above average shooter IMO. It's not a good Battlefront game though, but your mileage will vary on whether or not that actually bothers you. It's good enough at being its own thing that I don't really care.
I don't really mind. Most times myself and most others ive met will use skype or some other teamspeak software over any in-game voice chat. I'd rather that over 19 other people including children screaming and raging.

Sure you may get a bunch of screming kids, but now Instead of a squad you have 1 other partner, and now you can't voice chat at all. That's really not gonna help the game IMO. Like you said I usually play in private groups so it won't really bother me, but for others that can be an issue.
I want to say this is dumb but damn I can't remember the last time I experienced actual voice chat being used by people in BF3/4 in a relevant way Even in games where I do actually hear voice chat like in TF2, it's only used for casual shit talking as everyone I know who actually wants to talk just parties up and voices over skype/ts/etc anyways with friends

Small things like voice chat would better encourage team play (And this varies on the game in question, source games for example usually only involve shit talking) , but I guess I can just use skype or teamspeak, like what redBadger said.
So the game sucks ass I take it?
It doesn't suck but it doesn't leave much of an impression either IMO It looks fucking amazing, I'll say that much. My biggest issues with it is that it plays out like a really simplified Battlefield, which Battlefront kind of was. Except it's missing the huge breadth of options/AI/game types/etc that Battlefront had. So the result is this game which isn't really a great Battlefield game (too simple, even if it has a similar feel) and also isn't a great Battlefront game (lacking in content, options, modes, etc). It really feels like they made a super simple, inoffensive FPS so your average non-gamer Star Wars fan buying in on the movie hype this holiday will play and not be scared off. Especially with the card system which is feels like a cash in/tie in for that stupid digital trading card thing I hear being advertised in all my podcasts constantly.
Talking and communicating with your team would be anti fun because theres gonna be a 1 in 10 chances that someguy is gonna say something mean to someone, and that's anti fun. Take out voice communication. We wouldn't want too many features that would make the game feel complete.
So the game sucks ass I take it?
It's a somewhat decent Star Wars game, but it is not Battlefront.
Battlefield 3 didn't have voice chat too
Battlefield 3 didn't have voice chat too
But BF4 did.
Even BF:Hardline has voice chat. I feel like they kinda rushed this game. So many minor changes could vastly improve it.
Battlefield 3 didn't have voice chat too
The console versions did. :v: At first this seems kinda shitty, but the more I think about it, the more I can understand why. The only people I usually talk to when gaming is my buddies that I'm in a call with while playing the game together, and usually outside of that it's rarely used for actual teamwork. Sure it can be useful, but how often is it actually used for that purpose?
Battlefield 3 didn't have voice chat too
and people complained about it so they put in bf4 and hardline there's no excuse for a modern game, especially a team-based shooter, not having in-game voice chat
Battlefield 3 didn't have voice chat too
is that supposed to make it okay

Why does DICE hate us talking to each other?
is that supposed to make it okay
Was just stating a trivia
That's pretty dumb, but it personally doesn't affect me because I use PS4 party chat when I play. I don't think I've ever actually used ingame voice chat on a ps4 game. Edit: Just saw the site that posted the article, didn't realize it was only on PC.
Doesn't effect me, I only play games with friends anyways. Don't want to hear screaming children or man children. Never hear anyone use voice chat in BF4 anyways
and people complained about it so they put in bf4 and hardline
And no one uses it.
Call it something besides Battlefront and sell it for $40 and you got a best seller.
And no one uses it.
although i stopped playing bf4 some time ago, i constantly came across people using the squad voice chat when i did play if you don't want voice chat then just turn it off
And no one uses it.
Removing a feature entirely that would be useful despite many users not using it is stupid.
Removing a feature entirely that would be useful despite many users not using it is stupid.
If not many people used it what's the point in having it
If not many people used it what's the point in having it
Because at the end of the day this game is a team-based shooter and shockingly enough people will want to communicate with other players to accomplish the ingame goal easier, whether many players use it or not. And for those who abuse the feature or those who don't want to listen to others, players can mute whoever. Woah wow its almost like this feature has been implemented before in many team-based shooter games. there's no reason to get rid of voice communication.
how are you people actually against having voice chat in a team-based shooter? how much is EA paying you because i've never seen anyone actually defend a decision like this before besides with splatoon
