I'm looking for an ergonomic ear-listening-device I can talk into for other peoples to hear muh voic

I'm really confused. What's the difference between headphones or headsets? Microphone. Amplifier. Noise cancelling. Special this, special that, gives you a reach around (okay, I haven't seen any of those, but if I did that'd be an instant sell.)
Currently I have headphones. An old Skullcandy headphone which I have literally duct-taped socks around to make it more comfortable. The sound quality is debatable. For voice chat I have some cheapo plug-and-play free standing microphone.
I want headphones (speakers 'round my ears) with a microphone attached. Am I correct in assuming this is a headset?
I have ~$100 to spend, but if it was a real difference, could spend a little more for the comfort. What I'm really looking for is ergonomics. I want something I can wear for hours and hours and my ears will not hurt (maybe from the sound, but not from the actual pads sitting on the side of my head).
If you have a headset you are absolutely thrilled with, please post your reply! Give me a recommendation! And added bonus if it's wireless. I had a wireless mouse which was atrocious but if there's a good wireless headset out there, I'd really get excited. Like Taco Bell delivered to your door when you're stoned excited.
I am posting this post while listening to music and using TeamSpeak over a wireless headset. Logitech G930 is the name. I used to be one of the people who would say, "hey, just go for a wired headphones with a ModMic" but seriously, the G930 isn't horrible, lasts 10 hours on a single charge, the mic is good and although I'm no audiophile, sounds pretty good. I fully recommend a G930.
I've had it since Black Friday and have yet to encounter any issues where it disconnects randomly or what have you.
I have it as well, audio isn't perfect but definetly good. I love just walking around the house getting drinks, preparing food or whatever whilst talking to mah homies. Wireless is awesome

When I owned one, it was GREAT for the first 6-7 months or so. Then the headset started dis/reconnecting randomly, even if it was on a full charge. I figured "Hey, I'll return it to the store tomorrow, bing bang boom new pair.". I kept using them for the night, and I started to smell something funny. Being me, I got up and looked around but the smell was still there. I put two and two together and went "Oh my fucking god" and ripped my headset off and the bloody thing was smoking electronics smoke and the volume dial area was literally too hot to touch.
The return desk didn't want to test them to make sure they didn't work, obviously.
Your title reminded me of the time my microphone broke, so I used an old speaker which I yelled into instead :v:

Yeah, not horrible but it's not exactly the best value for money. If you lack desk space and don't like clip-on mics then may as well get a headset.
Though wireless is fun to be able to walk around and do whatever

You can regularly get it for super cheap. I picked mine up for $70. You can do worse for $70.
I use a Logitech ClearChat Comfort USB headset, cost me $14.99 at Best Buy. It's decent, cheap, simple, and gets the job done, so if you don't feel like spending 60-80 bucks on a headset, I recommend this one.
