I turned on my computer this morning to find the windows theme was set to classic (aero turned off)
I'm running Windows 7 64bit and I've had this desktop for around 3 years now.
When I tried to turn aero back on by going to the personalise menu from the desktop context menu, there was no option to do so and the troubleshooter button that was in its place turned no results.
I've been searching the internet for 2 hours now and I can't find a solution anywhere (usual story).
I then noticed other services on my computer had stopped working. I thought I'd try a system restore but it isn't functioning correctly either.
My Logitech G35 headset has also stopped working along with my 5.1 speakers that I also have connected.

The image above shows the failing system restore, the classic theme in use and the troubleshooting aero window along with the 'personalise' menu showing aero as disabled.
I came here because I constantly lurk Facepunch and the tech support forum almost always has a solution in my experience, and for once with my computer I am completely stumped as to what I can do to solve my problem.
Help
Thanks
Does a virus/general malware scan turn up anything? It sounds like something really screwed up your system, and you may have to reinstall altogether. You should also use the sfc /scannow command from an elevated (run as administrator) command prompt, and see if it comes up with anything. I would also check your graphics drivers, uninstall them and reinstall them to the latest version (unless you have Nvidia, then download 314.22 as the new drivers are fucking everything up). If that doesn't work and a virus scan turns up nothing, you might try scanning your registry (unfortunately I don't know any good/reputable programs to do this) for errors. If it still doesn't work, I can't think of anything, and you may very well have to reinstall Windows.

This is horrible news for me for many reasons. I guess I'll wait for more answers if they come but it may have to come to this. I really don't want it to though.
I am currently running an sfc scan but I'd still appreciate any input anyone else has.
Thanks
UPDATE:
Ran a virus scan, updated drivers etc. to no avail.
sfc scan complete, looks like bad news to me.
Thoughts, anyone?

welp
See what the log file says, might be able to provide you with an uncorrupted file
After much convincing I've decided there are some good reasons to wipe everything and start again.
I've salvaged the files I need and I'm just going to do a fresh install after a format.
Thanks for helping anyway guys I know this thread wasn't up for long but some new factors came into light which brought me to this decision.
