I have been having a problem with every game I play. For some reason whenever I'm playing a game weird artifact type looking things would show up then my game would freeze and then crash. I'm not sure if its my graphics card heating up or something else doing this. If anyone has an idea maybe of why this is happening please post what ur thinking. Thanks. Also ask if you have any questions.
-----------------------
Computer specs
- Gtx 460
- 8 gig ram
- I have a motherboard from a hp elite desktop of that matters.
- 6 core AMD processor
-----------------------
Also this only used to happen with bf3 now its starting to happen with multiple games.
Computer gpu temp: 52 degress Celsius... Idle
Does the GAME crash or does your computer freeze/bluescreen? Artifacts sound like a dying GPU, but usually that would cause a bluescreen if it failed, rather than a crash. If you can get a screenshot of the problem that might help.
Try to buy new coolers, fans and minimize the heat inside your computer. Battlefield 3 requires alot, and your computer should be able to handle it on minimum settings without anything like that. Try to clean your computer from dust.
Also,
your graphic card might be broken or something like that if my tips above didn't help you then you should consider buying a new gpu
hah , GAY!

Oh well.
52c is hot, clean it, apply new thermal paste.

I fully agree with you both parts.
Here's a tip.
Don't come back.
What's thermal paste? Also I dont want to sound stupid but how do you clean your graphics card? Lol but my motherboard is dumb because if i don't have this certain fan plug into it it turns on with a error. So having that fan in there blocks air from leaving my case.

The game will freeze with weird colors and then crash.
Thermal paste is a conductive piece of liquid solid that is used to transfer heat from your GPU(or CPU) to the heatsink more efficiently. If you're too scared to clean it just return it ask for a refund or repair or replacement.
I'm not afraid to clean it I will probably use the compressed air in a bottle from like staples to make it easier. Then how do you use this thermal paste.
Before doing annything check if its really overheating.
Run HWtemp next to your game and check the max CPU and GPU temps. Also Post your PSU make and wattage.
