Now let's hope they funnel that money to Project Beast
It sold well because it's a game with good mechanics, but the port is one of the worst ports to be quite honest. With a keyboard+mouse you're doomed to have shit gameplay unless you do plenty of silly workarounds, and the tutorial is still a kick to the nuts considering it only shows xbox buttons. Game's locked to 60fps instead of 30fps this time, and it's not surprising it's working smoothly considering it's not really pushing any turbo technology. It's a really bad port considering pure console games can get good ports - Metal Gear Rising, for example. And in this game, if you're playing on 60 fps, your weapons break twice as fast compared to 30fps.
Still, even for a really enjoyable game (50 hours on my side), it still has some fatal flaws (online play is all kinds of fucked thanks to soul memory and finite invasion items), and if you don't have a gamepad - gl. But if you can get around these awful things - it's a damn good video game.
I hope they are actually going to improve the thing to at least be acceptable on PCs

Not only that, the game itself is running at 2x speed, you can test this yourself by using MSI Afterburner and locking your FPS to 30, I ran through the Iron Keep while at 60FPS then at 30FPS and It's quite shocking, the port was handled horribly, I am very disappointed in From. Despite all the horrible problems, and game-breaking ones, it's still quite a good game and I have put 170 some hours into it, I just hope they own up to their mistakes and try to patch a lot of the broken stuff asap.

you literally signed up to rant about this superficial issue that doesn't exist and does not make mechanical sense and you are still posting about the same thing

Actually you can see I signed up way before DS2 was released I just never used the forum, and yet you still have yet to actually to download MSI afterburner and see for yourself, don't worry, I will be making a side-by-side video of the game in 30 fps and 60 fps soon in the coming few days, I'll do all the work you're to lazy to do for you.

you know, I've actually tried it
the only thing that exists is the durability bug because of the per-frame calculations, but the game does not move at "double speed"
Well I'd attribute it's success to nerds who like "difficult" games and the fact that the port is absolutely sublime. It literally runs four times faster than the original game on my computer, and looks prettier.
your knowledge of frames per second isn't sufficent enough to make such a judgement, to be honest. I understand why would you prefer 30fps as you're more than likely used to consoles, but that does not mean that 60fps is double speed

wo wow hold on cuppethcake will be enraged by this
four times faster??? thats unplayable man
What!? Quality means more sales?! The industry has to take a note to self here.
I love the smoothness of 60fps in this one, but I do miss some of the mechanics from the original. I mean, what good is that extra smooth frame rate when dodging is not nearly as viable as Dark Souls 1, where it was pretty much a necessity?
Apparently this game had a different director, so maybe that's why. I do hope their next title feels more like the original though. The art direction behind the environments was fantastic, but I never really felt like I was a part of the world this time around.
[sp]Also, I miss plunge attacks and chopping off tails[/sp]

um, you can still plunge and chop tails
also dodging relies on adaptability
will there be workshop content for das2?
um, you can still plunge and chop tails

Really? I haven't had a single plunge execute, and I suppose I've heard of one boss where the tail could get chopped off, but no new equipment is gained from it. I suppose I liked how in Dark Souls 1, any, and every boss with a tail could have it chopped off for a shiny new item[sp]weapon[/sp]. As for the adaptability thing, it apparently doesn't make much of a difference at all; at least not when it comes to the actual animations. Apparently you can shave off "two i-frames" or whatever, but you'd need to supposedly a ton of points to make any difference, and even then it wasn't worth it. This is the video I looked at, and the thread I read where pretty much everybody agreed adaptability wasn't worth pouring into past a certain poise level.
I'm still going to build with it in mind due to my character build, but it just doesn't seem to have the difference there was in Dark Souls 1 with the weight system. I do still prefer the weight system as well, as I really have no incentive to add a higher max weight to my character compared to the ridiculous importance it held in the first.

We don't even have fucking steam cards, chances of workshop happening is 0

The person who made that video is a fucking idiot it isn't "two i-frames" and I'm sick of this misinformation being spread everywhere.
