I hate crap like this.
FFXIII may not be a good series, but Lightning is a super popular character in Japan at the moment. They'd be dense not to do a cross-promotion. Plus, they're the same series, so what's the big deal?
The only reason she's so popular is because she's female.
Personality wise, she's basically a female Squall or Cloud.

Still, I really wish they'd cut this shit out.
Why can't we see more Auron? Or if it has to be XIII character, why not Sazh?

Squall or post-coma cloud really.
Pre-coma cloud was a bitch, let's face it.

Are you trying to say Cloud and Squall weren't popular?

You know, after years of people going on and on and on and on and on about how much FF7 sucked and how Cloud spent every five second crying and cutting himself and angsting, and then when I played it Cloud was remarkably free of angst save for a few parts of the story that were more to do with the coma and mindfuckery than sitting down in a corner angsting.
The characterisation seems to come mostly from Advent Children, where they made him angsty despite his character development because they wanted to follow what the fans thought the character was like.
Cloud: Shut up! I don't care about either Shinra or SOLDIER! But don't get me wrong! I don't care about AVALANCHE or the Planet for that matter!
Don't get me wrong he's not all CRAWWLLINNGG INNN MY SKINNNNNNNNNNNNNN angsty. just a little bit of a bitch. He does man up and become badass though.
Call me when its a nod to pre-Dissidia, non The After Years Cecil from FF4 or when its a FF6 reference other than Magi-Tek armor being there for no apparent reason or Magicite.
Not a fan of 13, but it definitely has the best battle theme since 9.

I think its one of the worse Final Fantasy battle themes.
I mean just as music to listen to, it ain't bad, but the intro is way too long in regard of how short most normal encounter battles are, which is why to me personally it got annoying really fast while playing the actual game.
To be fair I never played the game for more than an hour, and most of my exposure to the song was listening to it while riding those springy animals on playgrounds.
