I have ~$690 now. I don't know if anyone remembers my thread on how a friend of mine built me a PC because he owes me. When the guy built it, he said "I wouldn't need to upgrade for about 10 years" or something like that. He put 2GB in there and installed XP. All my problems went away when I got Vista instead, so no, "won't need to upgrade in 10 years" my ass. Also, I had to add an extra 2GB myself, which makes me wonder about the rest of the PC.

Anything in this PC that seriously needs upgrading?
windows 7 is really nice. you should get it.
and that graphics card can be upgraded.
Everything in it is fine really.
Everything seems fine. Windows 7?
If you really want to spend some money, you could dual some GTX 290's
Or if you are feeling a little more hardcore, you could go and buy some after market fan or water coolers, and try over clocking :)

Oh, and you could throw another screen at it. If you play EVE, and have multiple accounts, you will absolutely love having two screens
GTX 290? Isn't it the GTX 295? Why not the http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814103088
Costes a little more but it burns 295 out of the water.

I was being silly. And yes sorry, GTX 295 (its late D:).
And 2 of them would be hella expensive
Dumb question, but... I assume Windows 7 is less resource needing than Vista?

But get 7.
Depends on the system.
Anyways the 9800GTX+ could use an update, find a hd 4870 or an x2 of 4870,
keep the cpu but upgrade the ram by another 2 gigs then you will notice a bigger performance and you can actually start running crysis with a bit of aa on 1680x1050 but it also depends on what games you wanna also run.
if it's just l4d2 and any source game, keep it as it is. If it's crysis upgrade the GPU.
All I care about now is being able to run BioShock 2.
