I just bought Just Cause 2. And well I am thinking now, should I try to install Dx 10 addon on XP or install Windows 7 as 2nd windows on same HDD?
Why cant you just fully use Windows 7? Why do you still need to use a 10 year old OS?
Get rid of XP, switch to 7.
My specs are:
2.4 Ghz Core 2 Duo E4600
4 Gb Ram DDR2-800Mhz
1 GB Video GDDR2 GT9500
64bit Windows XP.

Just go with 7 completely. Slap another gig or two on your PC and it should run it fine.
Actually nevermind, I read that wrong. Your PC is more than capable for 7. Just get with the times. :)
well I just installed patch and backed up stuff on 2nd HDD. So in case critical crash occurs. I will install Windows 7. I will post outcome of Dx10 patch here after playing just cause 2 (or at least trying to play)

Well, your GFX card isn't really DX10 worthy. You may not get very good performance with it.
Goodluck.
I need any Dx10. I don't care. It's just that Just Cause 2 requires Dx10. I am even ok to play on minimum.
You can't install DirectX 10 on XP. It's impossible.
Any "DX10 for xp" thing is fake, buggy, and horrible. Get 7
DirectX 10 does work on XP for a reason. It's an old shit OS, get with the times.

Why would you do this?
ok so how do I install Windows 7 and keep all files ?
I got 2 HDD's
1st has system.
and 2nd has stuff , steam, etc...
How do I install windows so that Windows XP remains as secondary option?
Fuck off with the whole "Windows XP" you don't need, you will not need it, you will never need it.
Install Windows 7 on HDD1, that's it.

Backup all your files to HDD2 and format HDD1. When 7 is installed just put all your stuff where you want them.
Just ditch XP. Windows 7 is more than capable of running on your PC. I don't see any reason why you would WANT to fall back to XP except for maybe application compatibility. But I seriously doubt that is a big issue for you.
Well I just installed XP because I had problems with PSU. And still got them, not enough power. And well I thought windows 7 takes more W from PSU. ANd pc kept restarting all the time. I am buying new psu next week.

Anyways, congratulations. You're now using an OS that isn't old as shit.

I Got 550W PSU. And I am using it for 3 years now. Changing next week to 750W for 20 eur only.
