Steam integrated on the PS3 probably helped with that.

Hold on a sec, I can be online in steam without having my computer on and just play games on my PS3? Or is it only for valve games?

You log in with your PSN account I think.

Only games with Steam integration, which basically means Portal 2
Make it cheap then.
It's already cheap.
It's already cheap.
Nvidia cards are 2x as expensive as AMD cards I think is what he means.
i hope simple wont mean dumbed down
if someone decides that modding is too difficult for people then im going to be mad

Didn't Counter Strike: Global Offensive have Steam integration too? Or was that taken out?

As long as games exist on the PC, somebody will try to mod them.

that Steambox will sell for $500, the price of an Xbox One.

There's going to be many different types of Steambox. There might be more toned down versions for even cheaper.

There will be, if you follow the prototype specs you'll know they are testing out different tiers.
There's a Stream only version, Entry level (pretty meh hardware but the HDD is decent, either 120gb ssd or a 1tb HDD), Mid level then the High end which had everything they could throw in the box.
Talking about steambox, did they already told who are getting them or are they still choosing?
Am I the only one who actually found building and setting up your own PC to be piss easy?
Nvidia cards are 2x as expensive as AMD cards I think is what he means.
For this gen, doesn't necessarily apply going forward.
Am I the only one who actually found building and setting up your own PC to be piss easy?
Mine was easy to build too, but it's still more difficult and time consuming than plugging in a glossy box into your TV and wall. It's also more expensive unless you go with poor graphic quality.
nvidia 8 series when

People don't want to build PCs they want to plug a ox into their TV and go. For a lot of people just the idea of building a PC scares them.

This. Everyone is terrified of fucking something up but as long as you read the directions(which are only necessary for the cables that connect the case and the motherboard) it should be fine. It's as simple as plugging things in to places where they fit and remembering to put the stoppers in between the motherboard and the case and lining up the CPU correctly.
Didn't Counter Strike: Global Offensive have Steam integration too? Or was that taken out?
It was removed during development, sadly.
It all really depends on how the Steam Box will be advertised in the end, it will be interesting how Valve will market it.
If you want to do that, nVidia, stop buying game devs out into optomizing their games so heavily for your cards that your cards are practically the only thing that runs it right. Also let AMD run PhysX on the GPU.
Its why I hate the Steam Machine, because it stands in the same line of logic behind prebuilt PCs, Laptops and consoles. It doesn't help the situation at all.
Well, we know that during a nuclear winter you will be able to heat homes.

Sadly, I know people who don't have the attention span to do that sort of thing. Maybe people can be hired to build PCs for you.
