I am having problems with my mic.
On skype, I look at the little bar, and its always slightly on.
I can't hear anything when I call the test service though.
And on steam, when I test my mic, I get a lot of static even if the mic is not plugged in. Yes I have tried other mics.
Any possible causes for this, and hoe does one fix it.
if you have another mic port you can plug it in, try that
if it's a USB mic, try another usb port
Not USB mic, I just found out that when I watch a video while in a call on skype, my friends can hear the video.
My speakers are off, I'm using the sennheiser PC151's I just got from Ebay

Now I am getting no noise in steam, but no repeating in windows settings
