Oh, so Ys SEVEN just got released on Gog and now they're releasing the next one so soon? Well damn. Gonna have to get that one too. Maybe between those two and Dauntless I'll be busy until Danganronpa 3 releases near the end of september.

As for GOG - Pretty sure that Falcom mandates DRM-free releases for their external publishing partners ever since Joyoland's SecuRom implementation caused a bunch of issues with Ao no Kiseki back in 2011 before it eventually got patched out. So no real reason for anyone who picks up a Falcom game to not try to get on GOG.

I don't keep up to date on a lot of gaming news so this came as a complete surprise to me. SEVEN's release was only brought to my attention because I'm subscribed to Gog's release RSS feed itself. I had no idea it was coming so soon because last I'd heard there was no solid release date.
I mean, yeah, XSEED is basically getting Atlus'd right now and doing everything they can to hold on to what they can get. Because without Falcom and other small/indie developers, they only things they'd have on their roster is Fate/ and Senran Kagura - Which probably bring them far more money than Ys or Kiseki do, but w/e. Like how Namco was able to pick up Dark Souls after Atlus took all the risk in localizing Demon's Souls, XSEED was the only publisher interested in localizing Falcom games through the previous decade - And now Aksys, NISA, and potentially Atlus are now muscling in on those licenses like sharks attracted to blood in the water. There's betting pools being formed guessing as to who it will be who gets the publishing rights to Cold Steel 3 in-between the several contenders who will be trying for it.
