Now my Sims can show more emotion when the eventual house fire starts and kills them because they refuse to move.
Awesome! now i wish they would add an online mode to play with friends like they did for The Sims 1.
It looked awful. This game will be what Sim City 5 was to entire franchise.
I never thought it was possible to dumb down The Sims.
Hopefully it won't have the log-in bullshit that 3 had.
Not included: any of the features, tools, furniture, life states, or gameplay options introduced in the expansions for the Sims 1. And then the sims 2. And then the Sims 3. If they expect me to shell out money for their game, they need to stop trying to resell me the same content over and over again. How long until the Sims 4 Pets, The Sims 4 Vacation, The Sims 4 Nightlife, etc, etc? They've already learned that these are things that the players want to have in the game. They are a part of the core gameplay experience, and should be included from the start. Reserve your expansions for new ideas, not old ones with a fresh coat of paint.

That too!
I thought Ollie was really going to show his rocket, but it was actually a rocket. Lame.
Sim creating is fucking rad, every other game with customization just blows. But really, EA could do all that in Sims 3.

Uh... what exactly looks "awful"?
did you guys see that
YOU CAN ADJUST BOOB HEIGHT
Has the Sims always been so silly? I can't remember anything like having an actual working rocket in the backgarden in previous games. I might be wrong though.
listen, i don't care about much, but i do care about being able to make my sim in the Sims 4 walk like a complete retard
The customization looks really cool, and building houses will now be so much easier & faster, perfect :v:
But..the gameplay ''demo'' didnt get me that convinced yet. Gotta see if they'll show us more on thursday, which ive heard they will.

In Sims 2, there was a plant with a cow face that lured sims in with a fake slice of cake on its tongue. It then ate them and could be milked for milk imbued with the devoured Sim's life force and drinking it would make you live longer.
In short: yes.

I know it's always been humorous and had some weird stuff, but this just seems a bit out of place to me. It's not weird as such like the cowplant or the Magic Gnomes, and it's not something that is really funny.

The building tools were okay, it was simplified from already simple tools from The Sims 3. New Create-A-Sim? It's the same, but now without slides and you adjust directly at the body. Hopefully there will be more options than in TS3, but I doubt that.
But the interactions with emotions? Literally nobody asked for this, not even teenagers making vampire fanfiction stories in-game. Entire new HUD also shows how they took different approach to the game.

most of the silly stuff is the player's choice, though. i like that.

Honestly, Sims 2 was a lot sillier than 3, and from the looks of it, 4.
I mean come on, trees that grow simoleons, glasses that make you "cooler" and make your interactions stronger, A hat with a lemon juicer on it that when used would make you smarter, meditating long enough that you gain the power to teleport around the world, etc.
I actually kind of liked the silliness. And Sims 3 had stuff like time machines.
Uh... what exactly looks "awful"?
they made it easier now it sucks!!!
Wow fuck Andrei what a scumbag trying to steal Ollie's girl with "talent"
The new building tools look very easy to use, that's great.

I am honestly even visually this game seems a step down from Sims 3.
I mean sure, pudding faces weren't all that great, but the model and texture quality on the hair here alone makes me shudder.
It only showed up for a second or two, but you can change the height of stories, that's awesome!

I dunno! I really haven't got any problem with the addition of emotions. In fact, I think it's a pretty good idea. Emotions add another layer of depth to the gameplay. They make your decisions and decorating choices and blah blah blah have a greater impact on your Sim's mood and experiences, which translates into a more involved experience for the player. Now your Sims have actual emotions, instead of being driven purely by how hungry they are or how badly they need to pee, or whatever. It just seems like a smarter, more intuitive version of the aspiration system from the Sims 3. Now instead of your Sim repeatedly demanding to go make a goddamn snow angel, it might just say that your Sim is feeling playful, and thus will interact with other Sims in a more silly way, or reward you for letting your Sim goof around a bit.
And I have no doubt that your Create-a-Sim choices will impact your Sim's emotions in pretty dramatic ways.

It seems it's gonna give the game a lot more depth when you're only playing with 1 or 2 sims, but i can imagine that being very annoying with 8.
Heh, heheh, show her his rocket.
Wait what the..
I am honestly even visually this game seems a step down from Sims 3..
Uhh...
And you're saying what I think you're saying, I'm gonna give it more time. Its obviously more clean and stylized. I mean the new Sims look great. Reminds of the Sims for TS2.

Fat sims are more likely to cry and eat buckets of ice cream.

I like it. Makes your sim's actions have more meaning. I think you're just whining bit too much there without looking into it and are just using the Simcity debacle as a scapegoat.. Big Dumb American pretty much beat me to it.

Brings a whole new meaning to the phrase "Mile high club" eh?
