it's not just the animations. even from still shots, the female MC just looks weird
it's not just the animations. even from still shots, the female MC just looks weird
Good thing you can change the way your character looks, like almost everyone does in RPGs.
Good thing you can change the way your character looks, like almost everyone does in RPGs.
this does in no way help facial expressions, inquisition facial animations were worse than hl2. And the materials they've shown don't really look better.
Good thing you can change the way your character looks, like almost everyone does in RPGs.
Doen't that make the animations worse? I mean, if the animations are bad with the stock MC, with all parameters in control of the devs, imagine when people get their hands on the slides and manipulate the face!
Is everything going to have that sickly shiny look all the textures and materials in ME2/3 had? You know, the one that made it look like a giant dog had come through and kicked every map just before you arrived.
Clearly not everyone is put off by Ryder's expression, but there was enough negativity to spur BioWare GM Aaryn Flynn to respond yet again, and more forcefully in support of Andromeda's lead character. "Sara Ryder is awesome. Strong, funny, and adventurous," he tweeted. "Sorry there's a facial performance bug that lets her down here. We'll improve it."
Haven't folks at Bioware done vocal support for characters that get a lot of pre-release criticism before? And it almost always gets criticized in return as unnecessary character shilling?
"Facial performance bug". Who wants to bet it's going to be the same on release? Bioware can't animate for shit.
I can't put my finger on it. Is it that she has no form of emotions/expression when taking the gun? It just looks really off.
it's not just the animations. even from still shots, the female MC just looks weird
Female Ryder does look....off. I'm not saying ugly, but when compared to still shots of Male Ryder, [t]http://assets1.ignimgs.com/2016/11/08/screen-shot-2016-11-08-at-93900-amjpg-f9b485_765w.jpg[/t] He just straight up looks better. I dunno what needs to be fixed for Female Ryder, but something needs to be done.
Bioware is just incapable of hiring anybody that's competent it's quite incredible, really

The main problem is that it looks like she's been slamming the botox too hard. In the scene where she disarms the turian lackey, her eyes stay pinned forward, her eyebrows and cheekbones are stiff, and her jaw doesn't move in the slightest. The only part that moves at all is her mouth, which just slides loosely over the front of her skull. Without her face matching her actions, the entire scene drops into the uncanny valley and all is lost.

And yes, they do it exactly for the reasons you can imagine.
Sorry there's a facial performance bug
If my character from ME3 is indicative of that then we're in for a bumpy ride. [t]http://i.imgur.com/Xs4t4Pb.jpg[/t]
my favorite is that picture of femshep in a dress in ME3's DLC and she looks like her shoulders were surgically removed

Looks like they tried way too hard to make an "average" looking female lead so people wouldn't feel triggered by a good looking female lead making them feel inadequate. But made a handsome male, which is why he looks just better in general. My 2c
She looks like a midget who's been scaled up 150%. I really hope I'm not the only one who's noticed this or I'll feel like a gigantic asshole.
You're all going to feel bad when it comes out that Female Ryder was modeled after a real person and it looks exactly like her
You're all going to feel bad when it comes out that Female Ryder was modeled after a real person and it looks exactly like her
I dunno about that, have you met the people here?
Is there a source for this besides your ass?
Some interview in Game Informer from around the time DA:I was announced. It was the usual 'we made them have imperfections because unrealistic beauty standards yadda yadda' spiel that a lot of similarly-minded devs have used to explain why their men look normal but their women look mannish or just plain ugly. And I'm fairly certain I've heard someone use the 'doing it just to make sure male players can't find them attractive' angle from someone, but not necessarily Bioware.
Their bug is that they can't fire their modellers and/or animators.
inquisition facial animations were worse than hl2
But even today HL2 still has better animations than many games? :v: like fuck this is just the 2003 e3 presenation, the demo looks a bit awkward yet its still preferable to some of the crap we see [editline]4th January 2017[/editline]
Good thing you can change the way your character looks, like almost everyone does in RPGs.
shit like this is moot when if the character editor is one of the issues however so...
"Okay Mr. Ware, I'm a very busy guy so you got one sentence to pitch your character, go." "Well, as a character, Ryder is awesome-" *Shuts door in face*
You're all going to feel bad when it comes out that Female Ryder was modeled after a real person and it looks exactly like her
I'm imagining we'll see a bunch of "Imagine being this ug...[picture of model] Oh." Jokes.
I just hope the character creator isn't a mess like the DA:I one. People like to share their characters, having to do tons of screenshots of sliders that have no numerical values is a crime.

BioWare has literally no excuse.
You're all going to feel bad when it comes out that Female Ryder was modeled after a real person and it looks exactly like her
wasn't a few characters in 2 or 3 modeled off of real people and they still looked like complete shit anyway i can't fucking believe i live in a world where bethesda fucking shits on fallout for 3 games in a row and i'm still less insulted by it than bioware's utterly fucking self-indulgent dogshit. never before have i seen any company shit in its fans mouths so hard and demand they like how it taste
