It's pretty insane what they did. Hell even John Carmack had to retweet this and give them kudos :v:
tbqh this seems like the sort of thing that would get them hired up by GPU and engineering companies. This is one of the best projects one could probably boast about in that specific realm I would think
either way fucking phenomenal and massive kudos to them
Before someone asks, no this probably cannot be used to help CEMU (the Wii U emulator) as the WiiU uses a different graphics pipeline then the Wii and Game Cube.
I was watching my mate play with Dolphin this week and I was astounded by the clarity of the games. Granted, he was most playing the graphical juggernaut known as "Paper Mario", but still, the only emulator I've used recently is PCSX2 and that runs like constipated arses (Not that I could do any better or even start at all for that matter.)

The PS2 is a notoriously difficult platform to emulate, unfortunately. Dolphin works so well not only because the dev team is incredibly talented, but also because the GCN/Wii have relatively simple architectures compared to other popular consoles (N64, PS2, PS3, etc).
Yeah, Dolphin got Rogue Squadron 2 and 3 running before (and so far haven't) got RS1 working for the N64 :v:
Though, RS1 is on GOG so really don't need to emulate it.
Cool. I wonder if this only affects the Trilogy because I played through the gamecube versions of 1 and 2 over a year ago without any trouble.

It's a problem with all of them.
Having literally just beaten Corruption again today, the article makes it sound like the game performs a lot worse than it does though. In my experience the only time performance is impacted is in massive rooms, the outside areas of Skytown being noteworthy examples.
that blog post is a great read, insane how much work went into it
