• Just want to do some tweaking...

Hello Facepunchers! I'm here, because I have no life, and because I am bored. It's Spring Break, and aside from going to the mall tomorrow with some friends, my time is empty. Therefore, I've taken to enhancing the productivity of my computers by upgrading, tweaking, etc. I've already upgraded the BIOS on both my machines, but that didn't take long enough to grasp my attention. So I'm looking for other things to do. I've got a Dell Inspiron 530, factory standard except for the Graphics card, which is a GeForce 9500 GT. It's got 6GB of RAM, a Dual Core 2.66 GHZ Core 2 Duo, and a 500GB HD. Windows 7 Ultimate. I also own a Dell Mini 1012, baseline, with Windows 7 Starter. Very basic system, cheapest combination possible. 1GB RAM, 1.66Ghz Atom, etc.
Build a real computer
overlock your netbook to about 2.5ghz

[editline]08:08PM[/editline] [QUOTE=Fugl;21192531]Build a real computer[/QUOTE] Ahem, I'm on a bit of a limited budget. As in, flat broke. I do not have the money to build a real computer. Make do with what I've got.

Over-clock the desktop and paint the case if you're bored.
I wouldn't suggest overclocking a dell. [editline]08:42PM[/editline] If you want to improve the performance of your computer, then disable startup items and sort through the services.msc processes you don't need and run ccleaner and defrag.
