I've had this original blue Game Boy Advance SP since I entered the first grade, all those years ago...
Recently, my Junior-in-high-school self has picked it back up, and I've really gotten into it again.
Anyway, today an issue arose where it would turn off due to certain movement. I remember getting frustrated back in the day and a few times I would mash the A-Button as hard as humanly possible in my anger. One time, I did it so hard that the system shut off. (The level that drove me to such an act of violence was a snow level in super mario bros. 3 if you're curious.) Anyway, after that, if I ever pressed the A button too hard or a certain way, the gameboy would shut off. Nowadays, it hasn't gotten any less sensitive, and now it seems to have hit an all-time high with problems.
Start here if you just wanna get to the point:---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So, here's what's up. If the upper-right part of the system is struck or even jostled, (it varies in sensitivity) it will power off, and won't turn back on or receive charge unless you strike that spot again a few times to get it working again. Any ideas of what might need cleaning or more likely fixing?
To be quite frank, that doesn't bode well. From what you are describing, it can be many things, but I suspect that you probably have loosened the components on the inside of the machine, a condition that only gets worse with age. The only thing you can really do at this point is have a 3rd party who knows what they're doing have a look-see in there.

Probably be a lot cheaper to just get a used one off ebay or something.

but... all the times we had together.... the MEMORIES
But... If it can't be fixed (in which I'm pretty sure it can), then you might need to buy a new one. That's just how things are.
Perhaps take off the battery cover and remove + clean the battery contacts?
my xbox controller would turn off when you nudged it because the contacts needed cleaning and made a poor connection
