Apparently Offline isn't just possible, but it would even be easier to implement than stabilizing the current method of always connected. How else can you explain being able to play just fine without a connection for 10 minutes
almost behind us, but only if an offline mode is almost upon us
I dont want offline mode really. I think the way the online works is quality.
I want them to release a crack so Maxis has to compete.

yes it is be quiet
Hahahaha no
This fuck up was way too big to be behind us any time soon. Even though the compensation is nice, the DRM is going to run this game into the ground if they don't do something about it.
EA Fans: Challenge Everything.
Seriously though, EA, you ruined the game for me.
So how long until the "ONLINE DRM IS FINE IT'S ALL MAXIS'S FAULT YOU'RE JUST HATING ON POOR EA" guys come in?
Obviously not quite as straw, but it's tiresome.
I like the online features. Having an offline mode would be nice, but not required. Server stability is up so you can actually have fun now.

The simulation done server side apparently is keeping the region simulated and online while you're in one city. So if you play in a city, eventually the region will go out of sync and not update.
